Saraki Refutes Claims of Betrayal by Tinubu

Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President, has dismissed allegations that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President, betrayed him during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Saraki clarified his position in an interview with Channels Television, responding to questions regarding whether Tinubu played a role in the political and legal challenges he faced.

He stated that it is unfair to blame Tinubu for the current situation, emphasizing that Tinubu did not have the level of influence that people believe he had within Buhari's government. Saraki explained that the decisions leading to his prosecution by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, which investigated him in connection with the Offa robbery incident, were not influenced by Tinubu.

He reiterated that his actions were taken in the best interest of the country, even though they later resulted in political persecution. Saraki stressed that Tinubu was not among those who initiated the actions that led to the trial against him during Buhari's administration.
