Saudi Arabia Details Allowances for Foreign Workers

Saudi Arabia has published a comprehensive outline of allowances and compensation packages for foreign workers employed through the Ministry. According to Article 17 of the contract regulations, the Ministry will cover the cost of air tickets for non-citizen workers twice: once at the beginning of the contract when traveling from their home country to Saudi Arabia, and again at the end of the contract for their return.
Workers already residing in Saudi Arabia at the time of their appointment are not eligible for the initial ticket. Additionally, workers will receive a return air ticket to their home country annually during their contract period when taking regular annual leave.
For accommodation, a housing allowance equivalent to three months of the worker's salary, with a minimum of SAR 8,000, will be paid at the start of the contract and at the beginning of each renewal year. If a female worker is accompanied by a male non-marriageable relative, only one housing allowance will be provided, going to the higher earner.
A one-off furnishing allowance equal to 50% of the worker's monthly salary will also be paid at the start of the contract, along with a monthly transportation allowance based on salary.
