Supreme Court Frees Al-Mustapha in Kudirat Abiola Murder Case After Lagos State's Legal Failure

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has closed the long-running murder case of Kudirat Abiola, leading to the acquittal of Al-Mustapha, a former security officer under Gen. Sani Abacha.

The case involved the assassination of Kudirat, wife of acclaimed June 12 election winner MKO Abiola. Lagos State's failure to appeal or take legal steps for nine years resulted in the dismissal of the case.

Al-Mustapha's lawyer, Paul Daudu, highlighted the state's lack of interest in pursuing the case, leading to the final decision by the Supreme Court.
