SDP North-West Elects New Zonal Officials in Kaduna

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) conducted a zonal congress on May 4, 2026, at the party's state secretariat in Kaduna, where new zonal officials for the North-West Zone were elected. Suleiman was elected as the new Vice Chairman of the North-West Zone, with the election process being peaceful and in accordance with the party's internal democratic processes.

Adamu Idri, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, confirmed that all candidates for vacant zonal positions were returned unopposed. Idri urged the newly elected officials to prioritize the party's interests over personal ambitions and to work towards unity within the SDP.

Suleiman expressed gratitude to the delegates for their confidence in the new leadership and emphasized the need to strengthen the SDP's position as a competitive opposition in future elections. Other officials elected included Rilwanu Jamo as Zonal Secretary and Hassan Gidan Laka as Zonal Treasurer, among others.
