SDP Elects New Zonal Officials in North-West Congress

On May 4, 2026, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) conducted its North-West zonal congress at the party's state secretariat in Kaduna State, where Hon. Salihu Suleiman emerged as the new national vice chairman for the zone.

The congress was attended by delegates from across the North-West and resulted in an unopposed outcome for the leadership positions. The electoral committee, chaired by Adamu Idri and Titu Madaki, confirmed that the congress was conducted peacefully and adhered strictly to the party's internal democratic guidelines, describing the process as transparent and orderly.

The newly elected officials include Rilwanu Jamo (Katsina State zonal secretary), Hassan Gidan Laka (Sokoto State zonal treasurer), and others, all of whom are urged to embrace inclusive leadership and prioritize democratic consolidation.
