Enugu Security Forces Capture Notorious Criminals, Arms

On a recent operation, security forces in Enugu State apprehended six notorious criminals listed on the state's security watch list and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition. The haul included 17 AK-47 rifles, a general-purpose machine gun, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and various other weapons and ammunition totaling over 1,000 rounds.

Governor Dr. Peter Mbah inspected the recovered items at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters.

He acknowledged the efforts of the security agencies, including the DSS and the Nigerian Army, in combating crime in the state. Mbah reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining security, stating that there is no room for criminal activities in Enugu State.

He also urged property owners to conduct background checks on prospective tenants to prevent housing criminals. The governor expressed satisfaction with the ongoing investments in modern security infrastructure and training, which he believes are yielding positive results in the fight against crime.
