Six Suspects Arrested in Enugu State Security Operation

On a Friday, security operatives in Enugu State arrested six wanted suspects linked to major security breaches. Governor Peter Mbah disclosed the arrests during an inspection at the Enugu State headquarters of the Department of State Services.

The operation resulted in the recovery of significant weaponry, including 17 AK-47 rifles, a general-purpose machine gun, a rocket launcher, and various ammunition types totaling 1,071 rounds. The suspects were on the state's security watch list for involvement in violent crimes, including attacks on security personnel.

Governor Mbah acknowledged the efforts of the security agencies and reiterated the administration's resolve to eliminate criminal elements in the state. He also urged landlords to conduct proper background checks on prospective tenants and warned that properties linked to violent crime would be demolished.

Mbah commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting efforts to strengthen national security architecture and welcomed the recent passage of the state police bill aimed at improving security at the sub-national level.
