IGP Disu Urges Newly Promoted DIGs to Embrace Duty

During a decoration ceremony held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall in Abuja, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu addressed the newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs). He urged them to regard their promotions not merely as recognition of past service but as a renewed call to national duty.

Disu encouraged the senior officers to lead with honor and integrity, working collectively to build a Nigeria Police Force that earns respect and trust while being capable of meeting the nation's security aspirations. He reminded the officers of the strength of the police institution and the need for integrity, discipline, and a sense of duty.

Disu highlighted the increasing complexity of security challenges, including organized crime and cyber threats, and emphasized the need for strategic leadership. He charged the newly promoted officers to leverage their experience to strengthen intelligence-led policing, improve inter-agency cooperation, and reinforce accountability within the ranks, ultimately aiming to enhance public trust in the police force.
