NNPC Chieftain Raises Alarm Over Senate's E-Transmission Bill Impact on Election Integrity

Buba Galadima, a prominent chieftain of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), has voiced alarm over the Senate's proposed E-Transmission Bill, accusing it of being a calculated attempt to undermine Nigeria's democracy. Speaking on Arise TV, Galadima expressed skepticism about the Senate's intentions, claiming that the bill fails to provide genuine electoral reforms for the 2022 elections.

He warned that the current legal framework could allow INEC to manipulate future election results through loopholes in the bill. Galadima highlighted concerns about the potential for fraud in vote transmission, suggesting that manual procedures alongside electronic transmission could lead to fraudulent outcomes.

He emphasized that the bill, if passed, might facilitate election rigging rather than enhancing transparency. Galadima's critique raises significant doubts about the Senate's commitment to electoral integrity and the protection of voters' rights in Nigeria.
