Elisha Abbo Selected as Labour Party Candidate for Adamawa

Elisha Abbo, the former senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, has emerged as the Labour Party's governorship candidate for Adamawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections. His selection as the party's consensus flag bearer was confirmed following official clearance from the national leadership of the Labour Party on Saturday.

Abbo is expected to face competition from candidates such as Ahm Galadima of the All Progressives Congress and Aishatu Binani of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in the governorship race. In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Abbo reaffirmed his commitment to providing purposeful leadership, revitalizing the economy, empowering youth, and improving infrastructure across Adamawa State.

He stressed the need for inclusive governance that prioritizes citizen welfare, job creation, education, and healthcare. Abbo expressed confidence in his chances in the upcoming elections, scheduled for May 29, 2027, and plans to begin grassroots mobilization across the state's 21 local government areas to strengthen support.
