Senator Daniel raises alarm over planned demolition of private residence by Ogun gov

Former Ogun State governor and current senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has raised concerns over the planned demolition of a private residence and hotel annex in Sagamu by the state government. In a statement released by his aide, Daniel accused the government of political persecution and abuse of power, alleging that Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration is targeting him retroactively.

The notice of contravention and quit order issued by the government has been deemed as a thuggish tactic to intimidate and damage Daniel. The senator referenced a previous midnight demolition of a property owned by his wife in 2023, which the state government lost multiple legal battles over.

Daniel is urging citizens, human rights groups, and legal bodies to condemn the abuse of power and hold Governor Abiodun accountable for his actions.
