Nasarawa Senator Ogoshi Onawo Defects to APM from ADC

Ogoshi Onawo, the senator representing Nasarawa South, officially defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) during a plenary session on Tuesday. This move comes less than two weeks after he left the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

In his resignation letter, Onawo cited the need for a more cohesive support structure to address the internal challenges faced by the ADC, which he believes is embroiled in endless legal battles. He emphasized that the current party structure no longer provides the necessary environment to effectively represent his constituents and fulfill the mandate entrusted to him.

Onawo's decision to join the APM is based on a belief in the party's potential for cooperation and support. His defection follows a previous announcement made on March 12, when he, along with eight other senators, declared their departure from the PDP during a Senate plenary session presided over by Godswill Akpabio.
