Senator Yari Rejects Claims He Financed Anti-Tinubu Protests

Former Zamfara governor denies allegations of sponsoring demonstrations against President Tinubu, reaffirming his backing for the administration.

Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari has firmly rejected accusations that he financed or organised protests against President Bola Tinubu's government. The former Zamfara State governor characterised the allegations as baseless and driven by political opponents seeking to damage his reputation and standing within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Through a statement issued by his chief of staff, Abdullahi Tsafe, Yari maintained that he has no involvement whatsoever with any demonstrations against the Tinubu administration. He described the claims as products of deliberate misinformation campaigns aimed at character assassination, emphasising that such allegations are neither worthy of serious engagement nor grounded in fact.

Yari's response underscores his continued loyalty to the current administration. According to the statements circulated, he stressed that his relationship with President Tinubu is anchored on mutual respect and alignment on political matters.

The senator's camp characterised the timing and nature of the allegations as part of a broader pattern of spreading false information within Nigeria's political landscape. The denials were issued following growing circulation of reports linking Yari to anti-government protest sponsorships.

His team argued that such accusations lack any factual foundation and represent efforts by political adversaries to create division within APC ranks. The statement made clear that Yari remains committed to the success of the Tinubu-led administration and its policy agenda.
