Diomaye Faye Becomes New ECOWAS Chairman from Senegal

Diomaye Faye has officially taken over as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). He succeeds Julius Maada Bio, the President of Sierra Leone, during the 69th summit held in Lungi, Sierra Leone.

The summit emphasized the need for the regional bloc to intensify efforts to address security challenges, deepen economic integration, and strengthen democratic governance across West Africa. This leadership change is part of ECOWAS's ongoing commitment to enhancing stability and cooperation within the region.
