Mubarak Ahmad Gumi to Contest Kaduna Assembly Seat in 2027

Mubarak Ahmad Gumi, the son of renowned Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has declared his intention to run for a seat in the Kaduna State House of Assembly in the 2027 elections. He will contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Doka Gabasawa Constituency.

Gumi's decision comes in response to persistent calls from residents in his area urging him to step forward and offer public service. Currently serving as a legislative aide to the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abba, Gumi has gained direct exposure to legislative duties and the public policy process, which he believes will be vital in shaping laws that impact citizens.

He emphasizes the importance of youth participation in governance, advocating for active political involvement rather than merely online discussions. Gumi holds a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems with a minor in Public Administration from the University of Sharjah and is pursuing a master's degree in Data Analysis at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna.
