Shettima Represents Nigeria at 18th BRICS Summit in India

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived in New Delhi, India, on [date not specified] to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit. This summit aims to deepen Nigeria's bilateral relations, expand trade and investment opportunities, and strengthen cooperation with BRICS member and partner countries.

The theme of the summit is ‘Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’. Shettima leads a high-level Nigerian delegation that includes the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Amb.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani; and Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal. During the summit, Shettima will engage in discussions on global growth, resilience, and sustainable development, as well as participate in bilateral engagements to advance Nigeria's economic interests.

Nigeria became a BRICS partner country in January 2025 and aims to leverage partnerships in agriculture, technology, and the digital economy.
