Shettima Launches Arewa for Asiwaju Campaign Office

On October 17, Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign head office in Abuja, aimed at garnering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election in the 2027 general elections. Shettima warned political leaders in the northern region that their growing support must be earned through transparency, honest engagement, and measurable results, rather than being taken for granted.

He acknowledged the economic challenges faced by many Nigerians and urged campaign leaders to address these concerns seriously. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin stated that the A4A structure would effectively communicate Tinubu's achievements in the region.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, called for evidence-based decision-making among northern leaders regarding the 2027 elections. National Chairman Prof. Nentanwe Yilwatda moved a motion for support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, highlighting Shettima's inclusive leadership.

Abubakar Badaru, A4A Director General, expressed the group's commitment to promoting continuity across northern Nigeria.
