Shettima Promises Action Against Insecurity at Eid Prayers

On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima participated in Eid el-Fitr prayers at Ramat Square in Maiduguri, Borno State, where thousands of worshippers gathered. He expressed optimism that insecurity across the country would soon be contained through proactive measures deployed by federal and state governments.

Shettima called for unity among Nigerians, noting that the convergence of Ramadan and Lent offered a powerful moment for reflection on national progress and the inseparability of peace. He commended the resilience and unwavering commitment of the people and leaders of Borno State towards peace and harmony.

During the prayers, Chief Imam Mamman Saleh urged the Muslim community to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan, including discipline, sacrifice, and devotion, emphasizing the need for continued piety and social responsibility as essential tools for building a cohesive society.
