Shettima Vows to Confront Terror Attacks in Nigeria

Vice President Kashim Shettima, during a visit to Maiduguri, Borno State, addressed the recent surge in terrorist attacks across Nigeria, asserting that those responsible will be decisively confronted. He reiterated the federal government's resolve to defeat terrorism, particularly following a series of bomb blasts in Maiduguri that left 26 people dead and 146 injured.

Shettima condemned the attacks as barbaric and unjustifiable, expressing sympathy for the victims and their families. He was accompanied by Zubaida Umar, Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other state officials, including Borno State Deputy Governor Usman Kadafur.

The Vice President disclosed that the federal government is investing in logistics and equipment to enhance the anti-terrorism fight. Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede emphasized the need for community ownership in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, while also reviewing military strategies to counter these threats effectively.
