Six Arrested for Planned Bomb Attack in Ondo State

On April 15, 2026, the Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of six individuals in connection with a planned bomb attack on government facilities in Akur. The police, led by Commissioner Mr.

Adebowal Lawal, disclosed that these arrests were part of a larger operation that apprehended a total of 16 suspects across the state. The six arrested for the bomb plot were identified as Adekunl Prosper (56), Ojo Olumid (39), Tope Kolawol (40), Ahm Salihu (40), Bolaji Adebowal (46), and Gbadebo Abidemi (43).

During the operation, police recovered materials used for assembling improvised explosive devices, along with several incriminating items, including 217 bottles of bag sugar, 17 mobile phones, N187,000 cash, two HP laptops, eight sling knives, an external hard drive, and identification cards. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in assembling explosives intended to target government infrastructure and had recently rented an apartment in the Odu area of Akur as their operational base.
