Defence Minister Advocates Unity at SKFEST 2026

During the third edition of the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST 2026) held at Kafanchan Township Stadium, Defence Minister Musa urged for unity and community support to combat insecurity. The festival's theme was "Embrace Diversity, Build Bridges," and it attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, youth groups, and community stakeholders from Southern Kaduna and beyond.

Musa received the Southern Kaduna Grand Command (SKGC) award for sustaining peace, highlighting that active community participation is essential for security agencies to effectively neutralize criminal elements threatening communities. He assured families of kidnap victims that efforts are ongoing to create a safer environment in Nigeria.

Musa also encouraged young people to embrace education, entrepreneurship, and technological skill acquisition while rejecting violence and substance abuse. Dare Akau, Chairman of the Southern Kaduna Elder Forum, called for the restoration of the dignity of traditional rulers, arguing that stronger traditional institutions can enhance grassroots security and development.

SKFEST 2026 featured cultural displays, traditional wrestling, archery, cuisine contests, and a badminton tournament.
