Kwara State Government Supports Slain Soldiers' Families

On Wednesday, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State announced a financial support package totaling N60 million for the families of soldiers affected by a recent bandit ambush. During his visit to the 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army, he expressed condolences to the families of the three soldiers killed in the attack, pledging N20 million for the families of the deceased and N5 million for each of the three injured soldiers.

The governor commended the security agencies for their selfless service in protecting the nation and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the armed forces. He emphasized the dangers faced by security personnel daily and reiterated the government's commitment to assist the families until the Ministry of Defence can provide appropriate support.

The governor's visit also included a meeting with the chief medical director of the hospital treating the injured soldiers, Professor Abdullah Dasilva Yussuf.
