Sokoto Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Receives Good Governance Award

On September 4, 2026, the Blueprint Newspapers formally presented the 2025 Good Governance, Institutional Renewal and Sustainable Development Award to Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu at the Sokoto State Government House. The award was collected on his behalf by Hon. Bashar Ummarun Kwabo A.A, the Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, during the Blueprint Awards ceremony in Abuja.

This recognition acknowledges Governor Aliyu's efforts since assuming office on May 29, 2023, particularly in enhancing public institutions, promoting transparency, and advancing sustainable development through the administration’s 9-Point Smart Agenda. Key initiatives include investments in road infrastructure, water supply, healthcare, education, and agriculture, as well as the recruitment of 3,000 personnel into the State Civil Service and 2,440 Community Health Extension Workers.

This award adds to Governor Aliyu’s previous recognition as the Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year 2024. The Sokoto State Government appreciates Blueprint Newspapers for the honor and commends Hon. Kwabo for his representation at the national award ceremony.
