Sokoto Polytechnic Awards Fatima Aliyu 'Queen Mother' Title

Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic in Sokoto conferred the title of 'Queen Mother' on Fatima Aliyu, the wife of Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu, in recognition of her significant humanitarian efforts and advocacy for vulnerable groups, including women and children. The announcement was made via a statement shared on the first lady's Facebook page on Wednesday.

The statement highlighted her contributions to the welfare of these groups across the state through various initiatives in education, healthcare, and social intervention programs aimed at improving community welfare. The award was presented on behalf of the polytechnic by Malama Khaltumi Abdullahi and Mr.

Sumayyah Abubakar Shamaki. The institution also acknowledged the governor's support for tertiary education and youth empowerment in the state, linking it to the financial sponsorship of newly accredited academic programs, which signifies a significant investment in expanding access to quality education.
