Sokoto Government Commits to Health Workers' Welfare

During a courtesy visit from the National President of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Kabir Ado Minjibir, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, represented by Deputy Idris Mohammed Gobir, reaffirmed the Sokoto government's commitment to health workers. He emphasized that health workers are essential frontline personnel providing services under challenging conditions.

The Governor noted that the success of healthcare reforms relies on a motivated and supported workforce. He revealed that health workers were part of the three thousand workers recently recruited by the state government and announced a two-year compulsory rural posting policy for health workers to enhance healthcare delivery in rural areas.

Additionally, he mentioned plans to recruit two thousand four hundred community health workers and highlighted renovations of healthcare facilities across the state. Minjibir appreciated the government's efforts to improve health workers' welfare and discussed ongoing challenges with the Commissioner for Health.
