Sokoto State Mourns Soldiers and Policemen Killed in Action

Sokoto State is in mourning following the deaths of three soldiers and two policemen due to an improvised explosive device (IED) and an ambush by bandits. Governor Ahmad Aliyu, alongside Col. Ahmad Usman, who serves as the Special Adviser on Security Matters, acknowledged the sacrifices made by these personnel in service to the nation.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Usman described the recent military operations as a significant achievement that reflects the courage and commitment of security agencies in restoring peace in troubled communities. He emphasized the need for these agencies to sustain their momentum and intensify ongoing offensives against criminal elements threatening peace and stability in the state.

The governor extended condolences to the bereaved families and praised the fallen personnel for their bravery and dedication. The Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police Force continue to coordinate operations across Sokoto State as part of efforts to dismantle bandit camps and rescue kidnapped victims.
