Nigerian Troops Foil Attack on Immigration Outpost in Sokoto

On Friday, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, disclosed that troops successfully foiled an attack on an Immigration outpost in Ruwa Wiri Village, Tangaza Local Government Area, Sokoto State. The terrorists attempted to set the outpost ablaze but were met with a swift response from the troops, who engaged in a gun duel, neutralizing two terrorists while others escaped with gunshot injuries.

The troops, described as having overwhelming firepower, later conducted an area exploitation that led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and ammunition. Additionally, during separate operations in Katsina State, troops intercepted a group of terrorists moving to rustle livestock at Danya Bakwai Settlement, engaging the criminals and recovering 62 rustled animals, which were returned to their rightful owner, the district head of Daddara.

Osoba reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to tackle terrorism and banditry across the northwest and urged residents to support security agencies with credible intelligence.
