Troops Kill Two Lakurawa Terrorists in Sokoto, Katsina

During military operations in Sokoto and Katsina states, Nigerian troops killed two members of the Lakurawa terrorist group and recovered weapons and livestock. The operation, part of the ongoing offensive against terrorist banditry in the northwest, was conducted by troops from the 8 Division Sector 2 under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba.

The troops responded to a distress call about an attempted attack by the Lakurawa group on a Nigerian Immigration Service facility in Ruwa Wiri Village, Tangaza Local Government Area. In a firefight, the soldiers engaged the terrorists, resulting in the death of two and the fleeing of others due to overwhelming firepower.

Additionally, in Katsina State, troops intercepted terrorists moving livestock in Danya Bakwai Settlement, forcing them to abandon 62 rustled animals, which were later returned to their rightful owner. The military reaffirmed its commitment to tackling insecurity in the region.
