Sokoto University Matriculates 6,505 Students for 2025/2026

Sokoto University, also known as Usman Danfodio University, has officially matriculated 6,505 students into various degree programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. The ceremony took place on a Wednesday, where Vice Chancellor Professor Bashir Garba addressed the new students, urging them to pursue their academic journeys with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

The students have been admitted into 17 faculties and colleges, which include Agriculture, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine, among others. A breakdown of the enrollment figures shows that there are 1,008 postgraduate students, 1,146 in the Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences, 777 in the Faculty of Physics and Computer Sciences, and 827 in the Faculty of Health Sciences, among others.

Professor Garba highlighted the university's commitment to nurturing students to become capable scholars and good leaders, emphasizing the expectation for them to contribute to the university's growth and uphold its values.
