Sokoto Validates Health Labour Market Analysis Report

The Sokoto State Ministry of Health initiated a two-day validation meeting on the Health Labour Market Analysis (HLMA) report at Sokoto Guest Inn to enhance evidence-based health workforce planning and healthcare service delivery. Commissioner for Health, Dr.

Faruk Umar Abubakar, acknowledged the contributions of development partners and stakeholders, describing the HLMA as essential for understanding the state's health workforce. He noted that the validation marks a significant milestone in Sokoto's health sector development, aiming to provide reliable data, identify gaps, and support informed decision-making.

The analysis indicates that Sokoto has adequate health personnel across various cadres, while continuous workforce assessment is vital. Dr.

Abubakar reiterated that health development is part of Governor Ahmed Aliyu's Nine-Point Smart Agenda. Permanent Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Haliru Dingyadi expressed commitment to strengthening the health system, and representatives from the Global Fund and Federal Ministry of Health praised the state's collaboration and performance in the HLMA project.

The meeting's objectives included reviewing the HLMA report and reconciling data gaps.
