Troops Intensify Operations Against IPOB in Anambra State

Troops from the 302 Artillery Regiment, with support from the 14 Field Engineer Regiment, are actively engaged in offensive operations in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to dislodge suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.

According to security sources, the troops have been conducting operations for three days in the Ubaha community and Isek area of Ihiala LGA. During these operations, the troops encountered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) but reported no casualties.

The troops are maintaining a blocking position to identify crossing points within the general area, which is believed to be a hotspot for suspected armed group activities. The security forces are intensifying their efforts to clear the area of criminal elements and restore normalcy.
