Soldiers Seize 314 Rounds of Ammunition in Kogi State

On March 29, troops from the 12 Military Intelligence Brigade of the Nigerian Army conducted an operation in Kogi State, leading to the interception of 314 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. This operation was part of a three-month intelligence-driven effort aimed at disrupting terrorist activities in the area.

Soldiers intercepted a suspect transporting the ammunition on a modified motorcycle along the Jamata-Owara road in Lokoja. The suspect, identified as Mathew Elisha, is described as a high-profile ammunition courier on a security watch list.

Additionally, on April 20, soldiers mounted a checkpoint along the Obajana-Kabba road, where they intercepted a Toyota bus carrying two suspects, Zubairu Abubakar and Adamu Abubakar Abdullahi, who were traveling from Makurdi to Obajana. A search of the vehicle revealed three AK-47 magazines concealed behind the driver's seat, along with a mobile phone, driver's license, national identification number slip, and an identification card.

The operation highlights the military's ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics networks and restrict their movement.
