Nigerian Troops Kill Terrorists, Arrest Collaborators in Borno

Nigerian military operations in Borno and Yobe states from May 15 to May 21, 2026, led to significant actions against terrorism. Troops deployed in Kirawa neutralized two terrorists during an engagement.

In a joint operation with local hunters, four suspects were arrested at Kwayar Kusar Market for collaborating with insurgents and possessing six cows intended for illicit sale. On May 17, an adult male family member of a terrorist surrendered along the Gwoza-Limankara route due to severe lack of basic needs.

Further, on May 19, two adult females and seven minors surrendered in Dikwa LGA, with one identified as Alisha Sale. On May 20, troops arrested a female collaborator, Modu Mustapha, accused of smuggling food supplies for insurgents.

Additionally, on May 21, troops recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition abandoned by fleeing terrorists at a checkpoint in Bama.
