Soldiers Kill 24 Insurgents in Yobe State Attack

On Thursday, during the early hours, soldiers from the Joint Task Force North East successfully repelled a midnight attack by insurgents in Kukareta, Yobe State. The operation, which lasted approximately three hours, was led by Lt.

Col. Sani Uba.

The troops executed a swift and coordinated response, resulting in the neutralization of 24 insurgents. The attack began shortly after midnight and concluded around 3 AM, during which the soldiers inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers, forcing them to withdraw disorderly.

Additionally, the troops recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition at the scene, including 18 AK-47 rifles, three general-purpose machine guns, two PKT guns, three RPG tubes, two mortar tubes, and hand grenades. Two soldiers sustained injuries during the engagement, and an armored tank was damaged.

Following the encounter, the troops commenced operations to track the fleeing insurgents and recover additional equipment.
