Troops Kill 24 Terrorists in Yobe State Attack

On Thursday, during the early hours, troops from Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled a midnight attack by suspected insurgents in Kukareta, Yobe State. The assault, which began shortly after midnight and lasted for three hours, was confirmed by Lt.

Col. Sani Uba, a military spokesperson for the Joint Task Force North East.

The troops mounted a coordinated defensive response, leading to the retreat of the attackers and the killing of 24 insurgents. Additionally, the troops recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition at the scene, which included 18 AK-47 rifles, three general-purpose machine guns, two anti-aircraft guns, three rocket-propelled grenade tubes, two mortar tubes, four hand grenades, and 18 AK-47 magazines.

During the exchange of fire, two soldiers sustained injuries, and an armored vehicle was reported damaged.
