Soldiers Thwart Terrorist Attacks in Borno State

On Thursday night into Friday morning, soldiers from the Joint Task Force North East, under Operation Hadin Kai, successfully repelled a coordinated terrorist attack aimed at four military locations in Borno State, specifically around Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok. The assault, which began around 22:30 hours on Thursday and lasted until 03:00 hours on Friday, was met with overwhelming resistance from alert troops who firmly held their defensive positions despite the intense assault.

The troops executed simultaneous flank maneuvers alongside reinforcements, decisively routing the attacking forces and forcing a disorganized withdrawal. During the fierce engagement, several terrorist leaders, including a key amir, were neutralized, and numerous insurgents were eliminated.

Although the military locations sustained some structural damage, they remained firmly under the control of the troops. The operation also involved close coordination with air support, which conducted multiple precision airstrikes against fleeing terrorist elements.

The statement from Lt. Col. Sanni Uba noted that while the operation was successful, some soldiers paid the supreme price in the line of duty, reflecting the commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces to defend the nation.
