Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Borno State Attack

On Thursday night, troops from the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai engaged in a fierce firefight to thwart a coordinated terrorist attack aimed at overrunning military locations in Borno State. The assault, which occurred between approximately 22:30 hours on Thursday and 03:00 hours on Friday, targeted areas around Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok.

Despite the intensity of the attack, the determined troops successfully held their defensive positions and executed simultaneous flank maneuvers alongside reinforcements. The operation resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists, including a key leader, during the counter-offensive.

Although the military structures sustained damage, control of the bases remained firmly with the troops. Lt.

Col. Sanni Uba noted that close coordination with air support led to multiple precision airstrikes against fleeing terrorist elements.

The operation continues as ground troops exploit the area, recovering weapons and combat equipment. Regrettably, some soldiers paid the ultimate price in defense of the nation.
