FG Accuses Jupit Ltd of Smear Campaign Against Tinubu

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, has accused Jupit Ltd of conducting a smear campaign against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his state visit to the United Kingdom. Segun Tomori, a special assistant to the minister, stated that the campaign aimed to discredit the government's efforts to reform the mining sector.

The allegations include claims that Jupit Ltd falsely asserted that Nigeria seized a British lithium project and misled the public regarding the revocation of mining titles. The government clarified that there is no legal relationship with Jupit Ltd and emphasized that the revocation of mining titles was due to the company's failure to pay statutory annual service fees totaling 2.494 billion Naira.

Tomori reiterated that the government would not tolerate activities undermining the mining sector's reforms and encouraged genuine investors to operate within Nigeria's legal framework.
