Obi Questions Tinubu's Leadership, Calls for Direct Engagement

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that he sometimes believes President Bola Tinubu is not in charge of his government. During an interview on Arise News on Thursday, Obi challenged President Tinubu to speak directly to Nigerians instead of relying on aides and press statements.

He asserted that if elected President in 2027, he would engage with citizens without intermediaries. Obi criticized the President's frequent overseas trips, suggesting that he should spend more time in Nigeria and personally visit states like Zamfara, Sokoto, Plateau, and Kano, which are facing various challenges.

He urged Tinubu to spend three days in these states and insisted that the Nigerian president should spend vacations within the country. Obi concluded by stating that if elected, he would visit Sokoto and spend Sallah with the Sultan.
