Presidency Critiques Peter Obi's Governance Understanding

Fredrick Nwabufo, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Public Engagement to President Bola Tinubu, publicly criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, for his perceived lack of understanding of governance. This criticism arose following Obi's recent interview in which he promised to unite Nigeria if elected president in 2027.

Nwabufo stated that Obi's remarks indicated a deficiency in deep thought and governance understanding, labeling his statements as "sentimental nothings." He pointed out that Obi failed to provide a clear plan for national unity, merely reiterating that his cooks and ADC are northerners. Nwabufo emphasized that true national cohesion requires inclusive governance and equitable citizenship, asserting that the Tinubu administration has made significant strides in these areas by ensuring equal benefits from government programs across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones and appointing young professionals from diverse backgrounds to strategic government positions.
