South-South Female Cricket League Reaches Semi-Finals

The South-South Female Cricket League has advanced to the semi-final stage, showcasing intense zonal action in Benin City and Port Harcourt. This league is part of the Nigeria Cricket Federation's annual calendar and aims to provide a competitive platform for women's cricket in Nigeria.

The semi-finals will feature nine clubs, including the 2024 winner Idia Royal, Adolor Amazon, Emotan Queen Cricket Club, Ekpoma Supernova Cricket Club, Delta Force Cricket Club, Uniport Pathfinders, Dragon Cricket Club, Smasher Ranger Cricket Club, and others from Akwa Ibom State. The matches are scheduled for the weekend, with Uyi Akpata, the chairman of the Edo State Cricket Association and president of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, emphasizing the league's role in promoting gender balance and the overall development of sports in Nigeria.

The league, which began in 2021, is the first-ever women's league in Nigeria, reflecting a commitment to increasing female participation in cricket.
