PDP South West Disowns Ibadan Press Conference as Fraudulent

On Tuesday, the South West zone of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) publicly disowned a press conference that was purportedly held in Ibadan on Monday. The zonal public secretary, Akinloy Oyeniyi, described the event as organized by impostors who do not represent the party at any level.

He specifically condemned former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose's declaration of support for Oyo State Governor Makinde, stating that the individuals behind the Ibadan gathering lacked the mandate to speak for the PDP. Oyeniyi further clarified that no zonal officials were present at the press conference and labeled the claims made there as "barefaced lies." He emphasized that the group was illegitimate and did not include even the zonal vice chairman, highlighting the importance of proper party structure and representation.
