South West PDP Denies Endorsement of Makinde

The South West faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly denied claims of endorsing Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, labeling statements made by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose as false and misleading. The faction, led by Tanimu Turaki, issued a statement on Monday through Akinloy Oyeniyi, the zonal public secretary, asserting that Fayose's condemnation of Makinde was unfounded.

The ongoing internal crisis within the PDP has deepened factional divisions, with Turaki's bloc supporting Makinde, while Fayose's faction, which includes notable figures like Nyesom Wike, continues to challenge the leadership. The South West leadership, represented by Sanya Atofarati, praised Makinde's administration for its stability and democratic efforts.

Oyeniyi further criticized Fayose's group as illegitimate, stating they do not represent the party at any level and urged the public to disregard their claims. The statement emphasized that the faction remains loyal to the national leadership and will continue to operate through recognized party channels.
