Southern Monarchs Reaffirm Commitment to National Unity

The Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council convened in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to reaffirm its commitment to fostering unity among traditional institutions in the region and supporting national development. The meeting, chaired by Ooni Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, emphasized the need for collaboration to advance regional and national development.

The council resolved to ensure greater inclusivity within its executive structure, enhancing representation and communication channels. They also aimed to prevent operational lapses from the past and to present a united front to effectively influence national affairs.

The council reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and its economic development policies. Furthermore, they called for sustained peace and genuine reconciliation within the council's structure, highlighting their role in promoting unity across Southern Nigeria and contributing meaningfully to the overall development and progress of the nation.
