Tinubu Launches Southern Parkway to Ease Abuja Traffic

On Tuesday, during the flag-off of the Southern Parkway Service Lanes project in Gaduwa District, Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assured that the initiative would significantly ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity across the southern corridor of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The project, which is part of the administration's infrastructure renewal program under the "Renewed Hope" agenda, aims to enhance vehicular traffic circulation and provide vital inter-district connections.

Tinubu noted that the main carriageway, named after him, has already been completed, and the service lanes are designed to improve access for residents. He emphasized that once completed, travel time would be reduced, benefiting families and businesses.

The project is expected to create job opportunities and skill acquisition for Nigerian youths. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, expressed confidence in the project's timely completion, dismissing concerns about delays due to the upcoming elections.

The project is set to transform Abuja's landscape by May 29, 2027.
