Southern PDP Governors, Others Meet Behind Closed-Doors, Details Emerge

Southern PDP governors and other stakeholders recently held a closed-door meeting in Lagos to discuss party zoning ahead of the upcoming convention. The meeting, attended by governors such as Seyi Makinde and Douye Diri, aimed to address controversies surrounding the zoning arrangements within the party.

Despite some opposition, the stakeholders proceeded with the meeting, which started around 2 pm. The PDP National Publicity Secretary confirmed that preparations for the national convention in November 2025 are in full swing, with a National Convention Organising Committee already in place.

The meeting also addressed issues such as the upcoming NEC meeting and the need for unity within the party amidst defections. Former governors and key party figures were also present at the meeting to discuss these crucial matters.
