Sowore Celebrates Son's 17th Birthday After Long Absence

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress Presidential Candidate, celebrated his son Olukomi Sowore's 17th birthday in the United States. After a 20-month absence from his family, Sowore returned to their home in New Jersey, describing his son as strong, courageous, and independent-minded.

In a post on his X handle, he expressed joy in watching Olukomi grow into a young man. Sowore's absence was attributed to actions by President Bola Tinubu's administration, which he claimed involved targeting him through various institutions, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services.

He alleged that the government restricted his movement by detaining him and imposing bail conditions that affected his international travel. Sowore thanked his lawyers and supporters for their assistance during this period.

He plans to visit several cities across the United States and Canada to engage with Nigerians and supporters of his political movement before returning to Nigeria for the 2027 presidential campaign.
