Sowore's Trial Delayed Amid Courtroom Dispute

Omoyele Sowore is currently undergoing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja for alleged cyberstalking against President Bola Tinubu. During the proceedings on Monday, Sowore's lead counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, requested an adjournment to study newly released documents necessary for the cross-examination of a witness from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Akinlolu Kehinde, representing the DSS, opposed the adjournment, accusing Olumide-Fusika of using dilatory tactics to delay the trial. This led to a heated exchange between the two lawyers, prompting Justice Mohammed Garba Umar to intervene.

He admonished both lawyers for their behavior in court and subsequently rescheduled the trial for 28 September 2026, without consulting the lawyers beforehand.
