Sowore Demands Investigation into Dadiyata's Disappearance

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has demanded that the Nigerian police investigate the alleged involvement of several high-profile politicians in the disappearance of activist Abubakar Idris, known as Dadiyata. Sowore specifically named former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Yusuf Bichi, and former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, SAN, as being linked to the case.

Sowore expressed skepticism regarding the police's ability to conduct a credible investigation, given the high-profile nature of the individuals involved. He has called for the establishment of a constitutional judicial commission of inquiry to summon these former political officeholders, alongside the former Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to provide clarity on the matter.

Abubakar Idris was abducted nearly seven years ago in Kaduna State, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
