Sowore Resigns as AAC Chairman, Secures Presidential Ticket

Omoyele Sowore has officially resigned as the national chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) following his emergence as the party's presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday, shortly after Sowore secured the presidential ticket during the party's primaries held in Abuja.

Samuel Ajeigb has been appointed as the new national chairman of the AAC. Sowore's resignation marks a significant leadership transition within the party as it intensifies preparations for the upcoming elections.

During the primaries, Sowore received unanimous endorsement from party delegates, who expressed their support amid cheers. He emphasized the need for the AAC to build a new Nigeria free from corruption and poor governance, urging party members to remain committed despite the political pressures and economic hardships facing the country.

Sowore also criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for alleged incompetence and manipulation of public perception ahead of the elections.
